You are listening to daily insights on the three ABN Radio Network. And here is your host, Kaysie Butler. Hello there. Glad you have joined me today. What is Jesus doing now? Have you ever thought about that? We know Jesus is alive because the Bible says he has risen. And we know that Christ's resurrection is very important because it says in one Corinthians 15, verses 1719 and 20 if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, yea, yet in your sins. If in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept. Back to our question though what is Jesus doing now? We know where Jesus went because there was an eyewitness of where he went. In Acts one, verse ten and eleven, it says and while they looked steadfastly toward heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in wide peril, which also said ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. So we know from those verses that Jesus is in heaven, but what is he doing there? Hebrews four, verses 14 through 16, explains some more. Seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession, for we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. As a human representative before God's throne, Jesus is getting help for us as we struggle through the battles of life. Listen as the soundforth singers talk about this more in the song before the throne of God above I have strong whoever lives and be for me. My name is Rain, my name is I can be that you when Satan tells me to despair and tells me all within awkward I see an end to all my sin because I save my time, my sinful soul is counted free for God. I just satisfied to look on him and forgive me Jesus righteousness, the great unchange of all. I am the King of glory and race one within soul I cannot die, my soul is virtual, my heart is with Christ on heart with Christ my Savior. My God says we have such an high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens, a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched and not man. From these verses we find that the throne of God is actually in the sanctuary in heaven. This gives us more of an idea of what Jesus is doing because the earthly sanctuary used by the children of Israel was a pattern of what happens in heaven. Our next song in the Sanctuary by Three ABN Music describes what Jesus is doing there we have a high priest up in heaven hallelujah, oh Hallelujah he's our defender before the Father in a temple made by God not man behind the veil in a place most holy hallelujah, oh Hallelujah. Investigating he clears the record of those redeemed by his own blood he's blotting out my sin in the sanctuary he feels my bone with Him in the sanctuary up in heaven he makes provision for me in the sanctuary he's purifying heaven's temple hallelujah, oh Hallelujah. In preparation for his returning for those who love and follow Him he's blotting out my sin in the sanctuary he seals my bond with Him in the sanctuary up in heaven he makes provision for me in the sanctuary at the mercy sea in the holy of holy in the holy of holy wedding in the sanctuary he seals my bond with him in the sanctuary up in heaven he makes provision for me in the sanctuary, in the sanctuary, in the sanctuary how is Jesus blotting out our sins? In the sanctuary? Well, we return to the Book of Hebrews. Hebrews, chapter nine, verses eleven through to 14, says the following but Christ being come, and high priest of good things, to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is to say, not of. This building, neither by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood. He entered in once into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of an, heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh. That's describing a number of rituals that were symbolic of what Christ was to do back in the Old Testament. Sanctuary Services, verse 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. So we find here that it is through the merits of his own blood that Jesus atones for and blots out the record of our sins. The Galken evangelistic team. Share about this in the song. The precious blood before the cross I kneel and see the measure of my sin. How you became a curse for me, though you were, in a sense, the magnitude of your great love. Was shown in full degree when righteous blood of crimson still rained down from calvary had flowed from mercy side wash away my sin when Christ my Savior died all the precious blood of Christ the crucified it speaks for me before your throne where I stand just before am I that I should know this treasure of such earth my savior's pure heart only blood shed for the rest I do within a my every deed my every word and thought what wondrous love that makes me want your priceless? Blood has thought all the precious blood of Christ the Crucified it speaks for me before your throne where I stand justify pierced hands and feet me a body and mercy a crown of thought fierce hands and feet a body rule and mercy all the precious blood that flowed from mercy side wash away my sin when Christ my Savior died all the precious one of Christ the crucified it speaks for me before your throne where I stand justify so Jesus is currently a high priest in the heavenly sanctuary, plotting out our sins through his own blood. But there is more that Jesus is doing up in heaven at the moment. Another thing that Jesus is doing is a work of judgment. The Bible describes books in heaven which have recorded the details of people's lives, that is, everyone who has ever lived. These books are opened during the time of judgment, and the people are judged whether or not they are worthy of eternal life based on their life record. Acts, chapter 17, verse 31 says that God hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained, whereof he hath given assurance unto all men in that he hath raised him from the dead. We talked about Christ's resurrection before and how it was witnessed by people and how there were eyewitnesses to that event. And that gives us assurance that Christ indeed has risen and is in heaven. And this is saying that as surely as Christ has risen, he will also judge the world. Interestingly, in Revelation 14 we find that the hour of God's judgment begins shortly before Christ's second coming. And further studies of the time prophecies of the books of Daniel and Revelation indicate that we are indeed living in the time when Jesus is judging in heaven. The Fountain View Academy is now going to sing about Jesus'work of judgment. In the song the judgment has set, Saint Has books have been opened. How shall we stand in that great day when every thought and words and action christ the righteous Judge shall wait? How shall we stand in that great day? How shall we stand in that great day? Shall we be found before Him once he war with I sin all washed away close SA the Book of God remember to abide we stand that moment of searching when all our sins those books reveal when from that court each case decided shall we granted no how shall we stand in the great day? How shall we die in that great day? Shall we be found before Him walking or with our sin all washed away close so Jesus is currently investigating the books of record in heaven to determine who has availed themselves of the saving merits of the personal sacrifice of his blood. This is so that when he comes again the second time, he will know who he can take home with Him. There is one more thing we know of from the Bible though, that Jesus is doing for us in heaven right now. See if you can pick it up in the next song. Let not your heart be trouble. Ye believe in God and in me in my Father's house are many mansions I go to prepare a place for thee the Lord is coming, are you ready? The Lord is coming, are you ready? Would your heart be right if he came tonight? The Lord is coming, are you ready? Why will you wait? My brother promises of God all are true jesus bought your life on Calvary's Mountain and soon he will come again for you the Lord is coming, are you ready? The Lord is coming, are you ready? Would your heart be right if he came tonight? The Lord is coming, are you ready? Did you catch it? Jesus is preparing a place for us and it will be a new place too. Don't we all like new homes? The apostle John got a glimpse of the place being prepared for us to live in. And he describes it in Revelation 21. He says and I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God Himself shall be with them and be their God. I like the emphasis in that last verse of the fact that God wants to dwell with us and have us with Him. Did you know that everything that Jesus is doing now in heaven is with that goal in mind? Think about it all his work in the sanctuary blotting out our sins, his work of investigative judgment and his preparation of that New Jerusalem, that new city of peace, is all for the ultimate goal of reuniting with us again. Doesn't that encourage your heart? I pray so. And I pray we all will be ready when he comes to take us to our new homes with Him. Thank you once again for joining me on Daily Insights.
